The Vale of Belvoir Rotary Club's Memory Café has now been in action for over 18 months and goes from strength to strength with interesting and fun filled activities for those who are suffering from memory loss or early stages of dementia together with their carers or support workers. This month we have welcomed two new attendees and are pleased to see our regular visitors returning to us every month.

The café runs an enjoyable structured two hours of nostalgic activities aimed at stimulating conversation and participation. Topics covered this year have included Songs from the Shows, TV, Spring, Wash Day, Royalty, and Games. Each meeting has a variety of activities relating to the theme chosen:- video clips, pictures and memorabilia ,sometimes kindly loaned to us by Flintham Museum or provided by members of our club.

We have also enjoyed visits from Singing Groups and The U3A Ukulele Band who provided song sheets which gave everyone the opportunity to join in the singing of well known songs .

We also provide a delicious tea of sandwiches and home made cakes, all provided by Club members or their partners. No donations are required.

Our venue is the lovely All Saints Church in Cotgrave which provides a large open space with plenty of room and full facilities. Although our café is in Cotgrave, we welcome any visitors from Bingham, Radcliffe and all villages in the surrounding area.

The meetings are held on the last Thursday of each month, last for about 2 hours and all age groups are encouraged to attend. For more information if you wish to, either attend yourself, or bring a guest, please contact Gerry on 01949 838 173 or send her an email.
