Our second talent competition raised over £3,000 for our charities and once again the local talent performed well.
On 1st November ten members from the Vale of Belvoir Rotary Club prepared themselves for a cover-up in November as they set out to support the Nottingham University Hospital’s Prostate Cancer Appeal.
The simple plan was that all the volunteers would be sporting moustaches by the end of November and for that act the group hoped, through sponsorship, to raise a few hundred pounds.
Some of the group keenly “surfed the net” for tips on how best to encourage the growth of a ‘tash’ whereas others were more worried about the colour of the hair. As we suspected the majority will be shades of grey!
All the money raised will be added to a donation of £750 that has already been set aside for the appeal and the gang of 10 hoped to at least match that amount.
But we did better and almost tripled the target....
